The details of each model on the database are being progressively published in the JDC magazine, though only the owners’ names and countries are given, not their addresses.

This Register has become very active in collecting and updating the information, with the eventual aim to be able to publish a reasonably informed full Register.

The second aim is to provide a range of services to owners of such cars under the umbrella of the Jaguar Drivers’ Club. These include social events (monthly meetings, an annual day, special visits, weekend breaks and full Tours) which offer an opportunity to exchange knowledge about the cars at the same time as enhancing the enjoyment of their use and ownership in the social context, and a broad range of technical advice and assistance.

The Register is run by a committee whose interests cover a wide spectrum which it is hoped will match the likely needs of most owners.

Our aim is to identify at least one Register Member (who need not necessarily be on the Committee) whom Members can approach for technical advice on each of the model types. We are able to offer this for the following models:

SS ‘90’ Brian Knight

SS Jaguar ‘100’ Alan Gibbins

SS Jaguar Saloons 1936/7 Tony Lake

SS Jaguar Saloons and dhc 1938/40 Denis Foxley, Nic Drukker, Alan Gibbins and Allan Crouch

Jaguar 1945/9 Denis Foxley, Nic Drukker, Alan Gibbins and Allan Crouch

Jaguar Mk V 1949/51 Nigel Tucker, Richard Rogers*

All Models generally Alan Gibbins

This means that we lack anyone with specific responsibility for SS Is and SS IIs. We would welcome contact from anyone who might be prepared to take these on. More
